The monthly event series Elixirs & Eats gives new meaning to the term “happy hour.” Last month it was all about “Bacon, Booze, Beer and Burlesque,” and this month they’re toasting the end of July with “Inks, Drinks, & Hi-Jinks!”
Duck out of work a little early tomorrow night, Tuesday, July 31st, and head on over to Hudson Terrace from 6:30-9:30 to sip on a bevy of indie spirits, test your taste buds with hot sauces, rock out to a blues band and show off your best food tattoos at this kick-ass event.
Enjoy 9 different spirits (available either neat, on the rocks, or as a signature cocktail) from distilleries such as The Noble Experiment, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Scorpion Mezcal, Bardstown Barrel Selections, unlimited tastings of Arcobrau craft beer, and food/hot sauce pairings from Mexicue, Duke’s, Jarlsberg Cheese, Jimmy’s No. 43, and High River Sauces. And if that wasn’t enough, head outside onto the terrace and enjoy a grilled flank steak and chicken tasting, a performance by a red-hot blues band and a food- and booze-themed tattoo competition!
But back to the ink….have a great food tattoo? Well, folks with one get free entry to the event and if you email a picture of your food tattoo to kitchen@uglyfoodtastesbetter.com you can enter the best food tattoo competition (where you can score great prizes from Jarlsberg, Father Panik and Sailor Jerry).
Tickets are $45 and can be purchased here, with a portion of proceeds, along with on-site donations to benefit the Food Bank for New York City.
