Saturday:
The 7th Annual Great Hot Dog Cookoff
Chow down on more than twenty different hot dogs prepared by amateur chefs and a few weiners made by pros like Mile End, Marlow & Daughters, The Meat Hook and Gramercy Tavern. This year’s menu of meat encased goodies include a reuben-like hot dog, duck frankfurter with ramp relish, a detox dog topped with kombucha and served in a nori wrap, a mexican flavored hot dog covered in black bean puree and a jalapeno vinaigrette, and more!
Choose between two ticket options….
The Original Weenie Experience: $45
includes endless sampling of amateur hot dogs, one taste of a professionally made weiner, four beer tickets for KelSo brews, a collectors cup and samples of Steve’s Ice Cream, Kombucha Brooklyn and more!
-or-
The Pro-Weenie Experience: $65
all the benefits of the original weenie with tickets to sample all of the pro weenies!

The Mac Daddy of food markets, Smorgasburg is free to the public and happens every Saturday, rain or shine! With the Manhattan skyline in plain view, you can eat, drink and buy dozens of different delicious gourmet goods. A few tips…bring cash (the ATM line can be horrendous sometimes), wear sunscreen (with the exception of the vendors tents there is no shade), and come hungry! My favorite Smorgasburg vendors include Baby Got Back Ribs, Danny Macaroons, Brooklyn Soda Works, First Prize Pies, Liddabit Sweets, People’s Pops, Tin Mustard and Solber Pupusas!
Sunday:
Join Next Food Network Star and Chopped All Stars Chef Michael Proietti for a good old fashioned clam bake on City Island (where the Bronx meets New England)!
Spend the day on a private beach learning how to make a classic clam bake (which I first experienced last year), eating said meal of clams, mussels, oysters, crab, potatoes, and corn on the cob, not to mention the delicious, hot clam juice, and drinking (event is BYOB- but iced tea and water will be provided) on this magical summer day! Tickets are $75 and the event is limited to 12 people, as of this morning 6 tickets remain! For more information on the event, Chef Michael and to score tickets click here!
