While it may be a ridiculously frivolous novelty…. The Standard Hotel’s 3000 square foot ice skating rink is back !!!! You may go for the skating (admission is $12 and skate rental is $3) but I’m going back for Kaffeehaus, the Alpine-themed food stand adjacent to the rink!
In addition to winter-friendly snacks like doughy waffles, piping hot soups and sweet and savory crepes; the Kaffeehaus also offers spiced apple cider, super rich hot chocolate that comes in white, dark or peanut butter, steamed egg nog, The Standard’s signature hot toddy, coffee, beer, and wine!!!!
So grab your favorite wool hat, mitten and scarf combo and head to The Meatpacking District for a posh afternoon of skating, noshing and drinking!!!! Don’t forget their Biergarten is also open throughout the winter….by far one of the BEST places to drink in the city!!!!
